Uthman Bin Affan Mosque

Archaeological excavations conducted by the Department of Archaeology in Historic Jeddah have revealed at the Uthman bin Affan Mosque, located in the heart of Historic Jeddah, have revealed that the building has been in continuous use for over 1,300 years. For most of its history, the mosque adhered to the Traditional local design, featuring an open courtyard leading to a roofed prayer hall. However, its internal layout has undergone several alterations over the centuries. Most recently, during the 20th century AD, the mosque was completely reconstructed, yet all earlier remains were preserved beneath the modern structure.
